Kamal Haasan to take political plunge end-Sep?

Chennai, Sep 13 (tamilnaducentral): Actor Kamal Haasan is set to launch his political outfit by the end of September, say reports who could have possibly set eyes on the forthcoming local body polls scheduled in November.

Kamal Haasan has been very active on Twitter of late, boldly sharing his views and comments on the prevailing political turmoil in Tamil Nadu post the demise of late Chief minister J Jayalalithaa, ever-changing scenarios in the political climate and the ruling government’s corrupt practices. He has been voicing opinions on the burning social issues too right from Jallikattu to NEET aspirant Anitha’s suicide among others. He has also been taking in all the barbs and criticisms thrown at him by political party members.

It is said that Kamal Hassan may like to cash in on the political vacuum created in Tamil Nadu post the demise of J Jayalalithaa and the ongoing intra party crisis brewing within AIADMK may have pushed him to take it ahead.

As a prelude of sorts, on September 1, Kamal Hassan  met  Kerala Chief Minister and CPI(M) politburo member Pinarayi Vijayan in Thiruvananthapuram, and said that he was considering an entry in politics and would be “in the middle of things, not leaning to any side”.

On September 16 in Kozhikode, Kamal Haasan will be attending a national seminar against communal fascism to be inaugurated by Vijayan and attended by senior CPI(M) leaders from Kerala.

A formal announcement on his political debut is soon likely either on Gandhi Jayanthi day or Vijayadasami, reported the Indian Express.

Fans of Kamal Hassan have also rolled out a new Twitter handle – called @KamalPolitics to get news updates and events on his debut political journey.
