Chennai, Sep 12(tamilnaducentral): The AIADMK General Council that met today in Chennai has passed significant resolutions, much to the collective consensus of the legislators. The resolution pointed out that late J Jayalalithaa is the eternal secretary and they cannot afford to see anyone else in the position.
VK Sasikala appointed as interim AIADMK general secretary and TTV Dhinakaran as deputy general secretary have been removed from their respective posts but not actually removed from the party. All party related decisions taken so far by the sidelined deputy general secretary TTV Dhinakaran stand quashed.
Supporters of Dhinakaran who were expected to create squabbles have laid low and the General Council meet went on smoothly, say reports coming in. However, the decisions are subject to the approval of the Madras High Court. 18 legislators who have expressed loyalty to TTV Dhinakaran had not taken part in the meet.
On the sidelines,TTV Dhinakaran, caught in a fix is throwing out statements to media saying that his faction is not lying with DMK and they are the only competitors to DMK to fight elections. He vowed to bring back Jayalalithaa rule in Tamil Nadu. He added that some of the ministers have compromised on the principles of the former Chief Minister and gone the wrong way.
An obviously agitated Dhinakaran said that no one except himself and Sasikala Natarajan could convene General Council.
Supporters of Dhinakaran have reportedly burnt effigies of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami at Thanjavur over the expulsion of their ‘beloved leader’ from the party.
Edappadi said that no force can separate them anymore and they are a force to reckon with. He called Dhinakaran a traitor. He claimed that about 98 percent of AIADMk members took part in the meet.He lashed out at DMK’s working president MK Stalin, asking how he could dream to become the Chief Minister when he could not even head his own party.
