Chennai,Apr 26(tamilnaducentral): Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa filed her nomination for May 16 Assembly polls at RK nagar yesterday and has declared assets worth Rs 113.73 crore.
AIADMK chief Jayalalithaa has declared Rs 41.63 crore in movable assets and almost Rs 72.10 crore in immovable assets, that amounted to Rs 3.40 crore less than the Rs 117.13 crore she had declared in the 2015 bypoll. She in her affidavit said that the value of certain assets cannot be ascertained as they are either seized by the police or in the custody of the court in the disproportionate assets case.
Most parts of Tamil Nadu are experiencing an unprecedented summer heat wave with Vellore recording the highest temperature of five degrees higher than normal at 43.7 degree Celsius, followed by Karur at 42.5 degree Celsius on Sunday.The Met experts say that the last Sunday was the hottest day of this year.Temperature reached above 40 degree Celsius in most districts of Tamil Nadu except Chennai,Kanyakumari and Pamban, which is not an usual occurrence in the month of April.
