Chennai,Jan30(tamilnaducentral): Pazha Karuppaiah, former AIADMK MLA elected from Harbour constituency who tendered his resignation from MLA post, following his removal by AIADMK general secretary –Tamil Nadu chief minister J Jayalalithaa citing anti-party activities saw his house attacked by some unidentified miscreants last night.
The home of Pazha Karuupapaiah located at Royapettah has been stoned by unidentified people who have apparently come in an autorickshaw. The miscreants have shouted and had asked the former AIADMK MLA to come out. As the leader did not venture out of the house, they have damaged the windows and doors of his residence with weapons. The car that was parked in his house has also been damaged.The son of the ex-Legislator had then informed the police.
Union Minister Pon Radhakrishnan and Tamil Nadu BJP leader Tamilisai Soundararajan have condemned the incident. MDMK leader Vaiko has termed it as authoritarianism at its height.
Pazha Karuppaiah has told a private news channel that he had to avoid a function organized by Tamil Sangam at Vellore as the organizers have received threatening calls to put Pazha Karuuppaiah to death, if he attended the function.
Following his removal by Jayalalithaa, Pazha Karuppaiah has come out in the open and has been talking to media. He has called Jayalalithaa a brilliant strategist but only collective functioning was deficient within the party. He had also apologized to the people of his constituency for not able to render his duties to the fullest.
